Stockholm’s Autumn 2020 calendar is packed full of cultural delights

The Market Art Fair will be held from the 25th to the 27th of September, in the art gallery Liljevalchs Konsthall (Djurgårdsvägen 60) on the Djurgården island in Stockholm. Galleries representing Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden will showcase a selection of Nordic contemporary art, alongside some international exhibitors.

SUMMER DESIGN WEEK

AUGUST 17-23

Summer Design Week works in collaboration with Formex, the leading Nordic interior design arena, to present seven days of inspiring events and exhibitions promoting design. The event engages those visiting Stockholm as well as locals, and is a great place to meet like-minded people. The city is buzzing with events, openings, seminars, dinner parties and cocktails during this special week in August. 


 

SMAKA GOOD FOOD FESTIVAL

SEPTEMBER 10-13

Who doesn’t love a food festival? Smaka Good Food Festival (previously Smakapå Stockholm) attracts more than 320,000 visitors every year. Over 40 delicious restaurants, cafes and food trucks will be offering samples, and you’ll get the chance to meet some of Sweden’s most renowned chefs and bakers. The theme of this year’s festival is food, health, and sustainability. Also new for this year: the international conference Sweden Foodtech Big Meet is moving into the festival to make it accessible to visitors.


 

LIDINGÖLOPPET

SEPTEMBER 26

Lidingöloppet is the world’s largest cross-country running race. There are several different distances to choose from each year; 30 kilometers, 15 kilometers, a mountain bike race and more.


 

STOCKHOLM JAZZ FESTIVAL

OCTOBER 9-18

Stockholm Jazz Festival is one of Sweden’s oldest festivals, and in 2020 will take place from 9 October to 18 October in Skansen. Spread around 60 venues, it’s one of Europe’s most chilled music festivals. Over 18’s only.


 

AFFORDABLE ART FAIR

OCTOBER 8-11

Perfect for art aficionados and new visitors alike, Affordable Art Fair Stockholm returns in October 2020 with a fresh collection of contemporary artworks from hundreds of established artists and rising stars. Turn up to browse a variety of local, national and international galleries. They also offer a creative programme of activities.
